Hospice did wonders for my wife. Along the way, it did wonders for all of us. When we found out my wife, Dorothy, probably wouldn't survive her illness, a feeling of helplessness swept over us. Then we found out about hospice. Their team of medical professionals and trained volunteers not only treated her pain, but also helped to bring peace, dignity and comfort to her and our whole family. That alone was special, but hospice is still helping by offering bereavement support to our family. Every day we miss her but now every day we are able to smile for her too.

Hospice Services > Patient Services

Hospice is a special kind of care given to people nearing the end of their lives — a philosophy focused on patient comfort, and dedicated to helping patients and families live each day to its fullest.

An individualized plan of care is developed for each patient under the direction of their own physician, according to the unique needs of the patient and their family. This care plan generally combines pain and symptom management with practical and emotional support, and is carried out through the specialized skills of the hospice team. This "team approach" enhances the patient's quality of care, and is one of the qualities that makes hospice care truly unique.

Hospice care can be provided either in the patient's home or in the area's skilled nursing facilities. For more information, please contact our Clinical Facilitator at (530) 621-7820.
